The Tillie Pierce House is circa 1829. Sitting along what was known as No mans land during the Civil War. And saw some of the fiercest fighting of the battle! The house in fact was used as one of the many makeshift field hospitals during and after the battle. James Pierce and his family, including his daughter, Tillie, lived in the home during this time. The buildings namesake, Tillie, wrote a book about her experiences during the battle. Called what a girl heard and saw. It’s indeed an important historic landmark that should always be preserved and remembered!
