Join Get Haunted as we spend the night peeling back the layers of time at the Haunted Hill View Manor.

Hill View Manor is one of those places that gets in your bloodstream once you've investigated it - and we are happy to be headed back to continue exploring and investigating this famously haunted location. We want you to join us. We want you to experience what we know exists there!

We have personally witnessed apparitions, captured voices, shadow figures, and more. This location can be very generous when it wants to!

At 80,000+ square feet, this paranormal hot spot enables clean and exciting investigations, even with larger groups.

This event, like all of our events, will be tailored to investigators of all experience levels. If you are new, we will guide you through the night.

If you are seasoned, we will work right alongside you with our strucuted, but not cookie-cutted format.

About Us

Get Haunted is a new and exciting option for those looking to spend an evening researching, investigating, and discovering the paranormal. Our events are real... there is no scrípt, there is nobody watching the clock, and you are in the driver's seat from start to finish.

We have years of experience conducting public and private investigations. Our approach is as unique as our format, and we are convinced that you will agree our events are more than just an investigation... it is an experience.

We have spent countless hours developing a format that can work for everyone, regardless of your level of experience. This alone is one of our biggest differentiators. Our events cater to all experience levels. We investigate with you, not in front of you.

We intentionally keep our groups small by limiting available tickets. You will not stuffed into a crowded group when you book with us.

Who should attend?

Maybe you are just curious and have never investigated before but always wanted to give it a try for yourself. We have ticket levels that cater to exactly that!

We will guide you throughout the night, showing you our techniques while you utilize our tools and equipment. Make no mistake about it - YOU will be in the driver's seat as we navigate the investigation. We will be there to help guide you while you are investigating. You are the investigator - we are there to help facilitate the experience and help if needed.

Maybe you are ready to take the next step on your path through the realm of the paranormal or perhaps you are well-seasoned and looking for a fun night out to collaborate and share... we have ticket levels that will work for you as well. Our format is fluid and dynamic. While there is a structure, it is pliable and we adapt to you, our guests.

So, if any of this hits home, then maybe It is time to Get Haunted.

Important Note: We follow all state and location requirements in regard to COVID-19 precautions. Please email us if you have any questions.

How is all of this possible? Through tiered ticketing and a caring group of people who want to give you an experience like no other. We have developed three levels of tickets to match not only your budget, but also your level of experience.

Curious Investigator: Your experience will be time spent learning tools, techniques, and methodologies. We will be right there with you every step of the way. Do not confuse this with simply watching – you will be utilizing the tools and techniques we demonstrate. You will be conducting your own investigation with our skilled investigators helping you each step of the way. These tickets are limited.

Your night will begin at the designated start time and end approximately 5 hours later with an option to stay longer if you choose, for a fee. This is a great way to test the waters and see if this is something you truly enjoy, which we think you will.

- Shorter stay but a nice way to dip your toes in the paranormal pool.

Veteran Investigator: Seasoned investigators are often faced with the same dilemma when attending public investigations. Crowds and the long wait for your own time to investigate. We understand and our format will be a pleasant departure from the norm. While we have a structure and event flow, it is pliable and the vast majority of the night is yours with as much or as little guidance from our staff as you desire. The “veteran” group will work as an ad-hoc team .. planning and working together to conduct a clean and productive investigation.

- Perfect for seasoned teams and investigators

The Paranormal:

Hill View Manor was known as The Lawrence County Home for the Aged, also known as the poor house or poor farm, and housed the county’s mentally ill, severely destitute, and elderly residents that didn’t have any known family. It was built to replace the aging New Castle City Home and consolidated various small institutions around the county.

The facility opened it’s doors on Tuesday, October 19, 1926.  That day, Perry D Snyder, and his wife Mary A Snyder, whom were first elected in March 1913 to serve in respective posts of the New Castle City Home, took up residence in the Lawrence County Home for the Aged.  Along with Mr. and Mrs. Snyder, their two children, about 12 staff members, and the first twenty inmates, left the old City home and also took up residence in the Lawrence County Home.  A young boy was among these first twenty inmates, although the home did not generally take children.

In June of 1944, county welfare officials and the Snyder’s, now in their late seventies, were accused of incompetency at the home.  During the hearing the Snyders were retired with pensions, but permitted to stay at the home.  By late August, the Snyder’s were given three weeks to vacate the premise. The Snyder’s run of over thirty years of service to the community had ended, and Mantz B. Hogue, the longtime director of the welfare department, took over operations at the home.

The home continued to operate for many years and in the latter half of the 1960’s was remodeled and slowly changed into a  skilled nursing center while under supervision of Director Clarence E Covert. By 1970 the home was facing severe overcrowding issues, and Covert became bitter about lack of county support and resigned in January of 1973.

In December of 1974 the county decided to add a new section, which is now known as the North Wing, and remodeled some of the existing floors.  A new three-story addition including an additional basement floor was to be built.  This would allow the home to accommodate another thirty or more residents.  A new kitchen and dining room and other occupational rooms were included in the construction.  The north wing opened in mid-1977, and after a contest to find a more suitable name for the Lawrence County Home for the Aged, it was renamed as Hill View Manor on March 22, 1977.

Hill View Manor closed it’s doors in 2004 due to financial constraints. Although it seems to sit quietly at the top of the grassy hill above Route 65, evidence of its history remains active.
