Join the Riverside Iowa Paranormal team for a fun and exciting investigation at this majestic location.
Adolphe Cambre, and his wife Hortense, were French Icranians that arrived in the United States in 1848, ultimately migrating to Nauvoo.  Because they were a social commune, not a religious society, they were able to co-exist with the Mormons.
Adolphe Cambre was a cabinet maker who built the Cambre House in 1867 on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River to house his large family.  Adolphe and Hortense raised several children in this house.  Unfortunately of their 10 children, only 4 lived to adulthood.  The house is unique because it has a basement, which is unusual for houses built at this time and also has a “Door to Nowhere”.  Adolphe built 5 houses in the area.  All had this door that opened on an upper floor for ventilation purposes and moving furniture in and out.
The land itself has quite a unique history.
•At least two confirmed Indian Mounds.
•Ties to the War of 1812, as the property contains the direct
the path the troops took during the war & is where troops slept.
•Stagecoach route also went through the middle of the property.
•Natural mineral spring on the property
"Morman Springs" which is a warm spring.
•The property also contained a large apple orchard.
This historic house has only been owned by two families:  The Cambre’s 1867-1979 (4 generations of Cambres lived here) and the current owners family from 1979-Present Day.
People who have been fortunate enough to visit this location have experienced the following:
     •Mischievous kid-type activity.
     •Native American spirits present
     •Doors open/close, lock/unlock themselves
     •Shadow figures
     •Cold spots
     •Spirits of children present
     •Much, Much more!!
The spirits at the Cambre House and Farm are believed to love company and to enjoy entertaining.  Won't you be their special guests for the night?
Join the team of Riverside Iowa Paranormal "RIP" for a fun night of investigating the house, yard, and barn.  We will also try a couple of group experiments, and there will be plenty of free roam time for you to investigate on your own or with one of the RIP team members using our equipment.
Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
